Returning to my daughter and her kimono...

The hairdresser who helped her get dressed in kimono seems more pleased than my daughter. But one thing we've learned about our girl is that often the quieter she gets, the happier she is. And certainly I was about to explode with pride! :)

My wife wore this very same kimono when she was three years old. Her grandparents bought it for her, so it was very special to see it on our daughter. It has many auspicious patterns on it, including waves -- so that the child will have fortitude as she enters life's inevitably stormy waters.
