For the Gods

These are offerings at a shrine to the god Inari, the god of wealth, the harvest, fertility. The fox is his messenger.

Tell me, are the food offerings given to the poor, or perhaps left for the birds or animals?

@Judy aka L@dybug: Thank you very much. You ask a good question. Generally it seems, from what I've learned, that the shrine employees use the offerings after the gods have had their fill. But actually I'll have a little more to say on that on Friday... :)
