I have seen your other rice images, but I don't think one so close; this is wonderful.
Tell me, does each of these golden 'petals' contain a single grain of rice? Does the golden cover break away on its own or is there a process to open it?

@Judy aka L@dybug: Thank you. Yes each of these little pods you see holds one grain of rice. At harvest time some of that bran is stripped away (making "brown rice") and then more will be stripped away according to how brown or white the customer likes the rice.
