This book is currently in heavy rotation. It tells the story of a kindly lord from the feudal days who helps the common people of his domain and because of of his good deeds he avoids some men planning to rob him. I am not quite sure why my daughter likes this book so much: the story is too complicated for her age and the pictures aren't exactly that great. But she enjoys hearing this story before bed -- perhaps then to dream of being the daughter of a kindly lord in a far-off domain of Old Japan.

This is real reason they make cameras. Books are quiet, wait until she plays a song over and over and over ; ] best…jf

The atmosphere is quiet and tender! What a lovely idea to focus on the book! The mother and child are bathed in a soft light! Beautiful scene!

Hearing her mothers voice is the real reason perhaps..? She probably feels secure.
