Planting Time

Posted by
GJC (Kyoto, Japan) on 8 June 2012 in Landscape & Rural.

The first task is to till the earth, then let the water stand for a few days, then till it all again. Here we see a farmer using a tractor to prepare the field, while other fields have already been planted.

There is something breathtaking about the greens of a newly-planted rice field.

Yes. And something breathtaking about your capture--with the various rectangles and lines, with a spot of red.

Just one red tractor in agreen symphony !
I love the explanations ! I live in Provence in the south of France and there are some rice growing near Arles but they use machines ! May be on e day I'll go there to see how they plant rice ; I write sometimes for a very small newspaper , and may be one day I may write about rice planting in Provence , as you give me the idea !

@NicoleA: Thank you. And what a marvelous idea to write about rice planting there. I would love to know what it is like in Provence. I would love to visit!
