Autumn Majesty

No, I did not artificially amplify the red; it really was this color. You can see the same tree two years ago in this earlier post.

Every year this tree is the star at Shōkokuji Temple. In fact one of the things I like most about this tree is how stops people. The temple has a small pedestrian and bicycle path connecting two major streets, so there are lots of folks just passing through the grounds. But when they see this tree, they first slow down, then stop and pretty soon out comes the cellphone for a snapshot.
