I took this a few weeks ago; all the rice has been harvested in the Iwakura section of Kyoto now. At the time I took this the rice was about 10 days away from being harvested.

I am trying to remember if you have documented what happens to the rice after it is hand harvested. Is that also done by hand or turned over to mechanization? best…jf

@ordinaryimages: Thanks. Indeed, I have over the years posted a few photos of what it looks like after it is hand-harvested. You can see one example in this earlier post, as well as in this post. The machine now cuts the stalks, takes the rice off and puts it into a bag, and then grinds the stalks into a fine chaff.
