The Light of my Life

Posted by
GJC (Kyoto, Japan) on 19 August 2011 in People & Portrait and Portfolio.

Thank you all for your continued interest in this blog. Lately I have had a hard time keeping up with posting, and I feel that the quality of my images this year has not been good or consistent. Therefore, I am going to take a break for a few weeks, and I will begin posting again sometime in September.

I look forward to catching up with you then. Thank you always for your interest in this blog. Your words and encouragement and your own passion for photography have been a constant inspiration for me.

I would say that he quality of your photos is continuously high (I love your use of colours!), but I can understand that the daily pressure can be a bit too much and you're just not enjoying yourself any more.
A refreshing break will do the trick, do some Misogi as the people of Japan of old would do and we see you when you are ready again!

Don't doubt yourself - its hard being a father, husband and photoblogger at the same time :-) I didn't shoot much until my daughter reached about 2 - but now she's an explorer and I'm out a lot more with the cameras again (though the compact still gets more time than the DSLR). You're a very good photographer, so I look forward to seeing you coming back with some more amazing shots!

@Ian Smith: Thank you for such kind encouragement. It's very helpful.

Wonderful image and title.
I agree with the above comments supporting a break and slower pace for photography. Your little one will grow up so fast! You don't want to miss it.
