This was taken at a famous temple in Kamakura, called Hase Temple (長谷寺). It is especially famous for hydrangea, and they were truly spectacular in the rain.
oh des hortensia, sous la pluie, comme en bretagne ;-) chez nous aussi ils sont spectaculaires ! voir ici :

I often think most flowers are at their best in (or, just after) rain . . there is a total and complete naturalness out this shot.

You visited a nice place. Kamakura, it is as nice as Iwakura.

Gorgeous blue! And they really do come to life in the rain.

Hasedera! You went there? We did, too, some years back..at the time of hydrangeas. No rain, but a crowd instead! Very difficult to take photos, very difficult to admire the flowers.....'cause everybody is on the move these days....

@Japanalia: We had the good luck of tremendous rains! It just poured in great buckets, so there weren't so many people. We had a great time and the flowers were radiant in the rain.
This is a stunning image. I'm glad I found it under your featured images. The interplay of bamboo, hydrangea, and black and green is just inspiring. And that little twist of thread.. in the center ... very nice.
