Beautifully framed and composed GJC! It leads the eye deep into the shot! I am guessing that the papers attached to the lintels are prayer offerings. Thank you very much for sharing this wonderful series with us! ;-)

@Eric Cousineau: Thank you. The strips of white paper are called "gohei" (御幣). They are common at Shinto shrines to indicate the boundaries of sacred space and to purify that space and all who enter.
This is an especially nice image. I've loved this series.
