Shaker Village, Pleasant Hill

Posted by
GJC (Kyoto, Japan) on 29 November 2009 in Landscape & Rural.

Near Harrodsburg, Kentucky is what remains of a once-thriving religious community called the United Society of Believers in Christ’s Second Appearing, otherwise known as the Shakers. The architecture and the landscape is fantastic, and my camera and I felt instantly at home amidst the splendid simplicity and warm light. So I am going to bore you with this series of images of Shaker Village, Pleasant Hill. It's been more beautifully photographed by many, many others, but I don't care. I had fun.

For those of you waiting to (finally) get back to Kyoto, please come back in a week and we'll be done with Kentucky.
