Another hand-held at ISO 3200. No, I'm not employed by Nikon (that would be nice!) but I am very happy with my camera. I must say, however, that it got pretty darned heavy carrying it every day/all day for 10 days! Maybe that's where I get an assistant . . . .

NIKON D300 1/30 second F/3.5 ISO 3200 27 mm (35mm equiv.)

Laurie from New Jersey, United States

I love the way Nikon's newest sensors handle low light. This is really wonderful.

Agree with Laurie. Hard to believe the light quality at iso 3200 is so fine. The lack of noise is deafening. Lovely image to boot.

You have a much steadier hand than me! My hand helds at that setting looked like I was drunk ha ha

A delightful photograph, beautiful colouration and detail

vivid... isn't the D300 amazing? I had a similar "wow what a camera" feeling about my night shots in Reykjavik. what lens are you using? I find that with VR I can take hand-held shots as slow as 1/15 shutter speed.

and I'm with you on the weight of the beast :) it is worth it for the amazing images one can capture.

At first sight, the mood of your picture makes me think to Van Gogh's painting of Arles by night.
I did not visit your blog for a while, and I discover that you visited Germany. I am very curious of the way you see an european country !

Very nice! Could be a postcard. I want to go there!!!
I still debate back and forth about Nikon/Canon. Someday I'm going
to upgrade my camera and I really can't decide..Canon L series lenses are
soooo good, but I really can't afford them anyway.

I had the same thought as Francois – Van Gogh – especially the sky. The colors are the saturated colors of a painting. It is also nice to see an interior as well. Very well done!
