Cold Rain, 2

Posted by
GJC (Kyoto, Japan) on 20 March 2008 in Art & Design.

Second in a series of three, in homage to the great shin-hanga (新版画) woodblock artists Hasui (巴水) and Yoshida Hiroshi (吉田博).

A very nice perspective and reflection on the stones. The shot also has a very pleasing symmetry.

nice one :) i wonder how it'd look with a little less light on it though-- still playing with the settings on that spiffy d300? ;-)

@timothy sullivan: Thanks for the thoughts. I was using a polarizing filter and decided to take it off so I'd get more "oomph" from the wet pavement. May have overdone it, however. Thanks for visiting.

Great image, the tiny figure dominates everything despite her small size. (I gave an elaborate answer to your appreciated comment today). BTW I love the "oomph" :)

It's raining here today, too! You did a very good job capturing that wet alley where there's a slight reflection of the trees on both sides. I like that image very much!

Magnificent perspective. It really pulls me into the image and that lush canopy of trees ahead.
