Dreams of Miyako (都の夢想) is part of an on-going series that celebrates contemporary echoes of the 1,000 years during which Kyoto was Japan's Imperial capital (miyako) from 794 to 1869. To see others in the series, click on the tag "miyako" or "都".

@Tracy: Thank you. I was inspired by the Tale of Genji, the classic Japanese novel, where love and inspiration was often found in just tiny glances and quick looks.

Incredible, GJC - I clicked on the tag and really enjoyed that sidetrip as well - really kind of puts a bit more knowledge in place for the onlooker to learn - well done. Anyway, THIS image is awesome sir! You have managed to capture and convey a feeling, a mood, a place, a person, a lifestyle, a culture, and an array of colours... all within one phenomenal story-telling image!!...Just amazing - I think this should be Spotlight of the Day!
