Tea Time: Refreshed

Another from our tea at Kennin-ji Temple (建仁寺). The small wooden plate had a delicious sweet confection on it and the bowl was full of rich green matcha (抹茶) tea.

Wonderfully done, with the stillness of the cup and the green of the outside there but somehow slightly receded. I can't explain it properly - but this is a really good composition and I have the feeling that everything in it is considered and controlled - but not "set up" - and has a symbolic value.

I'm sure that the Japanese have a word for this sense of calm and "everything being in the right place". Which is just what your composition has achieved with the major elements in your picture. Well done!
