@Esther K ~: Thanks for the visit. It's not wood, actually, though the building is made of wood, but corrugated steel painted to look like wood.

Those rich warm tones of the old contrasted nicely with the shiny white of the new. Japan is a land of such contrasts.

Is that laminated (fake) wood and ribbed metal sheets??? In Kyoto? I am surprised because you've shown us the traditional and beautiful architecture of Kyoto. But a trip to the back alley came back with some nice surprises eh? Nice shot.
