cat from Tel Aviv, IsraelI've really enjoyed this series. It's fascinating to see these scenes from Japanese life and how the new and the traditional blend, and to see how your style is recognisable and used to great effect in these urban photographs. 30 Aug 2009 12:24pm John from Eureka, United StatesI like this series. I like the colors. It looks like you enhanced the orange in the signage and traffic cones which I think is important to the composition of this photo. 30 Aug 2009 12:42pm Tracy from La Selva Beach, United StatesGreat series! I love all the bicycles parked along the side! (something we never see here in the US...Here it is all about our cars!) 30 Aug 2009 1:33pm E.B from VOUZIERS, FranceJe suis admiratif de votre portfolio. Votre regard sur les choses est stupéfiant de part la simplicité et l'honnêteté qui en découle ainsi que votre technique photographique. 30 Aug 2009 2:31pm Steve Rice from Olympia, United StatesShrines in the most unexpected place. Great series. 30 Aug 2009 3:32pm daina from New York, United StatesI agree with Cat that your style is recognizable in all settings and I am so glad to hear you are doing more urban images! I especially like the amazing contrasts you focus on. The fondness you have for your subjects (countryside or urban) is in all your images and that is a rare quality. The city shots are more time specific (with signs of the time period - cars, clothing etc.) while the country images are more about time standing still and I like that you give us both and see them both so well. 30 Aug 2009 4:52pm Marcie from Newton, United StatesWonderful series. Love how you've put these together. 30 Aug 2009 5:07pm grant from kansas city, United Statesi've really enjoyed this series, and this is a fine conclusion. 31 Aug 2009 1:55am Lee from Fort Frances Ontario, CanadaIt was a great mini series. Do you have a sequel. Let me know. 31 Aug 2009 2:14am Ronnie 2¢ from Atlantic Shores, United KingdomYes, please try more . . these have been particularly interesting in showing the close relationships. 31 Aug 2009 12:42pm baobab from Cambridge, United Statesthis is my favourite in the seris, with the mad stack of bicycles and the simple frame of the gates. 31 Aug 2009 9:18pm Howard F. from South Pasadena, Calif., United StatesI am really enjoying these little temples sandwiched between concrete buildings. This is very different from the churches here in LA, usually surrounded by a large parking lot- no bikes, the street, then buildings. It's interesting to see how things around the world is sort of the same but sort of different as well. 1 Sep 2009 12:15am Kenton from Calgary, CanadaGreat scene showing all that goes on in this small street. 1 Sep 2009 3:38am Lucca from Cologne, GermanyHey GJC, there are a lot of bikes too! Very interesting street photo. 2 Sep 2009 8:38pm @Lucca: I was hoping you would see that! :-) I was certainly thinking of you when I took this -- the master of the bicycle photo. |
