Ronnie 2¢ from London, United KingdomAn image of dreams in many ways . . I like those wisps of cloud drifting there. Have a feeling it would be at its best on a black background or, perhaps, with a wide black border. 20 May 2009 9:58am @Ronnie 2¢: Thanks for the suggestion. I tried a wider border -- any thoughts anyone? cat from Tel Aviv, IsraelI love the diagonal that cuts the image in two, and the milky clouds. 20 May 2009 2:08pm daina from United StatesThe blending of shapes and the cool colors is lovely and the wispy rain clouds tie it all together – a very atmospheric image. About borders – I ended up with a mix on my site simply because some images could not take a wide border or a light one or etc. I know it is better to have a more uniform “gallery” feel to a site where the frames are all the same or no frame etc. However, unlike a gallery we are seeing each image by itself on a monitor and not a row of images on a wall so I think different individual frames can work and it will not look hodge podgy though the site might feel that way – like mine :}. I like a frame or border for your images because it separates them more from the comments and other stuff on the page. Some templates have the comments in a box or have information hidden and then a border might not be important to isolate the image. I do prefer the narrower border you had before for this image because it is a delicate one and the border is bold – but then it is such an individual thing and whatever you choose your viewers will learn to see your work the way you want to be seen. 20 May 2009 5:20pm @daina: Thank you (as always) for your thoughtful and thought-provoking comments. I agree that I prefer my "usual" border -- thin and delicate because that's how I feel so many of my images are as well. I thought I'd try with this one, and I couldn't tell if I didn't really like the wide border only because I wasn't used to it, or because I feel like it's too heavy. Tomorrow it will be back to my usual. But I appreciate all the helpful suggestions and thoughts from all. I also feel that the border is a little too strong... But have to be frank, I have yet to find an appropriate border myself; and have thus been posting without any.:-) 21 May 2009 2:47am Sugata from Newark, United StatesReally love the mist and the different shades of green! As the comment above says, it is almost like a painting. 21 May 2009 8:24pm |
