Spring Leaves: In the Garden

Starting today and going for the next two weeks , I am going to post images celebrating the return of the spring leaves of the Japanese maple tree. After watching the cherry blossoms in April, our next great natural pleasure is seeing the vibrant new leaves. Enjoy.....

What an amazing fresh look those leaves have and the figure in the garden seems to be truly part of the scene, rather than turning this into a photograph of someone in a garden - if that makes sense. Do the Japanese characters that the commenter above (Stu) used mean 'new green' to describe specifically the phenomenon of the leaves? (I'm fascinated by languages and how they reflect culture, but know nothing about Asian languages).

@cat: Thanks for the visit and comment. I was glad you thought the figure (my wife) integrated well into the scene so that it all worked together. I find it hard to balance figure and landscape.
As to the characters "新緑" they read as "shinryoku" and the first character 新 translates as "new" and the second 緑 as "green" or "greenery."
