That yellow color is one of my favorite all time colors. 23 Apr 2009 12:08pm bluechameleon from Vancouver, CanadaThe new leaves making their appearance on the tree seems so fresh and such a lovely bright green. So wonderful with the strong yellow line of the fence! 23 Apr 2009 12:35pm grant from kansas city, United Statesi count five different planes of space. just one way of seeing the photo, of course, but i like that feeling - of one layer added upon another and another. 23 Apr 2009 3:28pm zanfifotos from Pignans, Franceso sweet spring afternoon, so great colours, young green leaves 23 Apr 2009 4:33pm Roman from Thunder Bay, CanadaBeautiful colors and patterns. What I've noticed from you pictures GJC, is that Japanese people like their privacy. There's always a wall or fence surrounding something. cheers 23 Apr 2009 4:43pm Howard F. from South Pasadena, Calif., United StatesBeautiful garden and warm lighting. The yellow wall is a very good choice. 23 Apr 2009 9:07pm Phototherapy from SwitzerlandA lot of poetry here, with this old tree and bricks, all the ages 23 Apr 2009 9:08pm Richard_Irwin from Belper, United KingdomThe soft afternoon sunlight has infused this shot, super work, love the colour. 23 Apr 2009 9:09pm Stu from Kyoto, JapanAnother wonderful image. The mix of colours and textures works really well and combined with the afternoon sun gives a lovely warm feeling. 24 Apr 2009 4:51pm Isabelle from Liège, BelgiumVery nice spring scene, I really love this green on the trees, and you show us nice light and good textures, I like to guess the house behind the trees 24 Apr 2009 6:20pm Jonas from Vitória, BrazilThe tree and the branches create a kind of pointillist effect on the house. A somptuous picture! 24 Apr 2009 10:05pm Stu from Kyoto, JapanYour shots chronicling North Kyoto really are second to none. I was up Iwakura way the other day and didn't see too many sights like this, yet you seem able to find them on an almost daily basis. You must know your way around that area like the back of your hand by now. 28 Apr 2009 2:16pm @Stu: Thanks so much for your kind comments; I really appreciate them given the high esteem I hold your own photos in. Yes, I must say that I know the Iwakura area pretty darned well. I don't have a bike so I have walked huge stretches of the area, which means at a walking pace you get to know a lot about a place. As you have already seen, there is plenty of banality all around Iwakura. But there are also still a large number of glorious sights so that I wouldn't want to live anywhere else in Kyoto. Photosanity from Folsom, United StatesGorgeous light. Love the layers and textures you captured. 30 Apr 2009 4:44am Anita from West Nottingham, United StatesA beautiful, peaceful scene. I like that yellow wall. 3 May 2009 12:35am |
