Cherry Blossoms, Kodaiji Temple (高台寺の枝垂れ桜)

The cherry blossoms are a surprisingly difficult subject: it's hard to take a bad picture of the trees, but it's even harder to take a good one. Here is my attempt to at least avoid a bad picture.

I imagine it must be hard to do an extraordinariy picture of these flowers. If I may...ideally all the background should be dark like in the left. Anyway it's a fresh and light picture. I like it.

Couldn't agree more about trying to take "good" pics of the sakura - it's extremely difficult. I like what you've done here - having another element in the shot in the bakground to make it about more than the tree. Beautiful light and colour in this, an very calming scene.

I like the way you captured the shidarezakura against the wall of the temple! It is a most natural manner of shooting such an image....no other background is necessary!
