Taken at the same place as yesterday's: Sudo Shrine (崇道神社). This is the end of a traditional Japanese drain-spout called a "kusaridoi" (鎖樋).

Such a lovely sense of falling water and the light shining through the drops. It's very subtly suggestive of spring rain - and I like the drainpipe as it's a tiny part of the shrine itself, it gives me the impression that everything has its part to play, even the small and unglamorous things are important and even beautiful because they're part of something bigger.

Is there anything more contemplative than sitting by one of these when it rains listening to the sound of the metal parts softly clinging to each other when the wind moves them and the sound of the water overflowing from one part into the next one? Japanese people have such a close relationship with mother nature...
This is one of the reasons I immediately fell in love with the countries even more than the big cities...
