I'm amazed at the Nikon's ability to pull details out of the shadows, and you use it to masterly effect here.

@Stu: Thanks. Actually the Nikon has three settings to control the amount of shadow. I usually keep it on the lowest setting because I like high contrast and deep shadow, as here, but it's wonderful to have the option for greater balance if you want it. I keep saying: my camera may not be everything to the photos on this blog, but it's 99%. All I have to do is keep from screwing it up between looking through the viewfinder and pressing the shutter.

So many different lines of perspective, including the tree branches, busily working away here - all new points of interest. And the foreground light is really eye-catching, plus it looks even better with the moss creeping into the stoney creams and shadows. Very nice.

so many beautiful lines and colors in this one. i like the hanging elements like the chains and those translucent bits of white - perhaps paper. it's all lovely.
