cat from Tel Aviv, IsraelI think if I'd have seen this I'd have been annoyed, but you made it into something beautiful and amusing at the same time. I like that the shapes of the roofs don't exactly match and how the satellite dish has such wonderful light on it, as if it's illuminated from above and becomes part of the spiritual rather than the ugly and mundane. Amazing light too - and such clarity. 16 Mar 2009 5:35am Sugata from Newark, United StatesWow! What a nice combination of the old and the new. Well spotted! 16 Mar 2009 5:53am Mirko Herzner from GermanyThis is what I was talking about yesterday. Warm colors all over the image. A more typical Yakumo' image... 16 Mar 2009 6:41am @Mirko Herzner: Thanks for the visit and the comment. I'm flattered that you'd look carefully enough to notice. I do indeed love the late afternoon light. My absolute favorite time of the day. Veronique from Sarrouilles, FranceI'm like "cat" ! My first idea was why didn't he take off this horrible thing :-) Humour, humour 16 Mar 2009 7:58am vu@granby - Wolfgang from Granby, Québec, CanadaI like the juxtaposition of styles and of course ther glorious light! 16 Mar 2009 11:38am bluechameleon from Vancouver, CanadaThe lines and yellow colours are just wonderful. I like how it seems to reflect into the clouds. Well seen. 16 Mar 2009 1:23pm hugo poon from hong kong, Hong KongSo well spotted!:-) The tonality, textures and details are wonderful, as always, but it's the beautiful form of the clouds that is setting this apart! Love this very much! 16 Mar 2009 2:09pm ordinaryimages from Kentucky Bluegrass, United StatesOne considers the dynamics of history, oppression, economies... 16 Mar 2009 2:16pm daina from New York, United StatesI did not even think about new vs. old etc. This image is so strong in shapes and colors that every other consideration escapes me. Even the ubiquitous dish becomes an integral part of the wonderful composition. And the differences between the roof lines create a fine tension and the contrast or comparison (simple vs. grand ornamentation) is great design. And love the luminous color! And the framing is perfect. 16 Mar 2009 3:25pm mo.langel from Courtelary, SwitzerlandMerveilleusement graphique et joliment coloré! Ils sont bien branchés dans cette maison! :O) 16 Mar 2009 5:01pm Richard_Irwin from Belper, United KingdomNicely spotted, an eye to the sky. Enlightenment at the push of a button. 16 Mar 2009 5:17pm Howard F. from South Pasadena, Calif., United StatesThat satellite dish is awesome, giving such a huge contrast between the traditional roof and modern construction. Nice warm color and nice shot. 16 Mar 2009 5:23pm Steve Rice from Olympia, United StatesA wonderful juxtaposition of the old and the new. Lovely light. 16 Mar 2009 5:29pm Ilan from IsraelUnbelievable light. This is the golden hour of photography.. And you took this photo just at the right time. 16 Mar 2009 7:33pm Damon Schreiber from Toronto, CanadaMmm - such warm light - and great juxtaposition. 16 Mar 2009 8:51pm Pixim from Nice, FranceWow, I adore. The construction of the photograph with the installation of the lines. The so hot, penetrating and dense light. And of course, this opposition of the round, generous construction which exceeds the right, the non-imaginative Bravo ;) 16 Mar 2009 9:14pm Ronnie 2¢ from London, United KingdomAn amusing touch of the abnormal here . . how noticeable it becomes in such a harmonious setting. 16 Mar 2009 9:39pm Phototherapy from SwitzerlandVery nice composition, I like the different kind of building :) 16 Mar 2009 10:16pm Ian from A tranquil leafy place, United KingdomCat makes fantastic points about the misalignment in the rooves, the light hitting the satellite dish, etc., and I agree with all of them. The light again is just beautiful. I even like the strip of red above the window, bottom of frame-right. Lovely 16 Mar 2009 10:32pm Anita from West Nottingham, United StatesBeautiful lines, colors, light and sense of humor! 17 Mar 2009 9:18am grant from kansas city, United Statesstunning light and composition. for me, the dish really adds interest - a reminder that the world is unruly, quirky, human. 17 Mar 2009 11:26pm michele from Canadathis is fantastic! i see what you mean about this one offering it's self to you. the colors, the light and the satellite dish - all really great. 18 Mar 2009 4:07am |
