cat from Tel Aviv, IsraelThere's so much detail in this photograph, so many things to notice. I like the feeling of motion around a still centre. I almost feel like I am standing in the picture, as part of the scene - instead of this being just a depiction of the scene. If that makes sense :) 11 Mar 2009 7:39am EstherK from Kota Kinabalu, MalaysiaI would LOVE to explore this place! Standing in, looking out - nice perspective, GJC. 11 Mar 2009 8:14am Mirko Herzner from GermanyA fine view here, Yakumo even if the 3 seconds exposure was a bit to much for the trees in the background ;-) 11 Mar 2009 12:33pm @Mirko Herzner: Thanks for the comment and the visit. In fact, the point is the trees and the paper moving. Hence the title "The Spirit Moves." Not to everyone's taste, I'm sure, but it was, at least to me, not too much. In fact, I had to wait a long time to get a wind of sufficient strength to make the movement I was trying to get! Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaThere is so much to see here, bravo for this great, great compo right up to the bokeh to the right, you missed nothing! 11 Mar 2009 1:47pm daina from New York, United StatesEven though I could list so many of the elements that I like in this image it would not add up to the whole which is what I love – how it all integrates, joins and combines. And once again I am reminded that whatever the photographer’s intended meaning a good photograph can morph into a very different meaning for someone else. The movement or blur for me is essential in this image as a foil for all the intricate and sharp detail. Anyway it is a very satisfying image – it makes one pause and want to look. 11 Mar 2009 4:10pm Ian from A tranquil leafy place, United KingdomExcellent, I'd love to see a large version of this to investigate some of the details properly and enjoy more the marvellous watercoloury wash of those moving trees (brilliant idea btw) ... the white light on the wall is amazing too - it's like a snowy light: suggestive of an entity or emotion contained within the shrine. 11 Mar 2009 4:48pm Liang from San Francisco, United Statesexcellent colors again! Amazingly captured structure here. 11 Mar 2009 5:35pm Tracey from Maryland, United StatesWowzers...3 seconds! What a great catch with the wind moving all of the light things. I would love to try this one day! 11 Mar 2009 6:09pm Ilan from IsraelAmazing frame. Very Japanese quality to it (from obvious reasons :)) 11 Mar 2009 7:33pm Sugata from Newark, United StatesI love that motion blur... especially the paper. 11 Mar 2009 9:10pm Howard F. from South Pasadena, Calif., United StatesGreat long exposure shot. Why 3 seconds? 11 Mar 2009 11:12pm Sidney from Manila, PhilippinesBeautiful image... very peaceful looking. I love Japanese gardens. 12 Mar 2009 1:05am Observing from North West, United KingdomA very peaceful setting for the spirits, they approve 12 Mar 2009 1:47am Francesco Gallarotti from Long Island, New York, United StatesThis is without any doubt one of the best images you have published so far. I love the green soft detail through the "window" in the wall on the right. 12 Mar 2009 4:39am Anita from West Nottingham, United StatesI love how your framed this one. Lovely shapes and lines--straight and curved. Lovely combination of human and natural objects. 13 Mar 2009 11:10am |
