Twilight Watch

It bothers me that this isn't sharp here on Aminus3 as it is in my computer, but so be it. I'll share it with you nonetheless.

I dedicate this to Grant at Analog Kansas who, among other things, has shown me the compositional value of power lines. :-)

Apologies to all for not getting around to your blogs this week. I've been away but am now trying to catch up.

That's an exceptional composition with the blues and one bird. The power lines work well as an added element.

A strong concept which works very good for me. Unfortunately the JPG compression is clearly visible around the bird. Not your fault, though...

I think any perceived lack of sharpness is show to the jpg compression on the site. I generally tend to resize by photos t oaround 950px before posting so that I'm in charge of the compression.

Love the simplicity in this.

I really like this one GJC....compositionally strong with an edgy feel to it yet very simple!

(on the issue of sharpness you shouldn't really be having problems. You do know about the need to resize landscape format pics to a max. horizontal pixel width of 800 don't you?....just thinking out loud)

Splendid image; I think i'll have to take a few cues here as well and play around with power lines--there certainly are enough of those here in Japan! Like the slight diagonal you have; it draws the eye naturally downward to the bird, while the deep hues and diagonal of the background cloud work nicely to connect the lines together.

Powerlines are great tools to emphasize the urban environment but sometimes they bug the heck out of me for ruining a beautiful landscape. Great color and minimalism.
