Analog Kyoto

I don't know about you, but so often when I'm out taking photos I see a shot that "belongs" to someone on this Aminus3 site and say, "Oh, that's so-and-so's shot!" Well, this photo is my nod to the blog Analog Kansas, a wonderful site that uses shadow and architecture and the urban landscape in ways that inspire me (though what you see there is a lot better than this photo). Super shot but tame compared to some Japanese streets I've seen that are so full of wire it seems to blot out the sun. Well, sort of.

@ordinaryimages: I thought the same thing, but that added a whole additional level of artistry that I couldn't match, so I decided to go with color.

Good nod. Perhaps in the spirit of analog, Analog Kyoto would be in b/w. But then again, I would hate to see your colorful landscape go ;)

Great shot and I do think you have made it your own through the use of color and angle. I know what you mean by other photographers coming to mind and Grant has come between me and a shadow photos recently too : ) I have not posted them but perhaps we should make it Analog Kansas week or something. Anyway I like this image a lot and your use of shadow is very graphic and strong.

This is a great example of aminus3 at its best. We photograph, we share and we learn. But we also begin to recognize each others work and here emulate it. Great photo example.
