Kimono (着物), 2

Tying the obi (帯) or kimono sash. Taken from behind the wearer, who must judge by feel (we don't have a mirror) where and how best to tie.

A real glimpse into another culture, it's really interesting to see it from the "inside" as it were. And a lovely shot, too - the colours and textures and how the line of the thumb is paralleled by the line of the folded cloth.

Wonderful. I wore one once and it was so difficult to put on and I didn't have a clue how, fortunately I had help from someone who knew more about it. It was very interesting and the fabrics are just wonderful and the colors are amazing.
