My Nikon adores green and on this rainy day the Nikon was, I think, just showing off. But I confess I was pretty happy with what it gave me.

As others have stated it has a fantasy feel to it. It feels like a secret place that one could only come upon in a mystical way. The composition is wonderful and original. The curve of the branch is unexpected and adds so much.

Great capture. love it. Reminds of something Joseph Campbell said in reference to Japanese temple architecture (to paraphrase): You cannot tell where the temple buildings end and nature begins.

With the tree in the foreground you have created an almost 3D effect, it's a sensational image and a scene from the Magic Forest.

I love the atmosphere given by those trunks and the mapple leaves in the foreground. I would suggest to crop 1/4 of the picture on the right and having the main trunk starting in an angle. The composition should be stronger but give it a try...

@akarui: Thanks for the visit and the comment. I agree the composition isn't too strong, so your suggestion is a good one. I was just so overwhelmed by the GREEN that I didn't pay as close attention to the composition. Thanks again.

A wonderful shot! I think everything has already been said. Yes, the composition could be stronger but the green tones and all those diagonal lines make it a very interesting picture nonetheless. Great job!
