baobab from Cambridge, United Stateslovely fresh colours and I really like all the repeating / contrasting lines and layered visual elements. the grass repeats itself, the strong diagonal bands of colour pull one through the picture, and the shaded layers of mountain draw the viewer into the central focal point, and are in turn echoed by the low clouds in the sky. did you try a crop with less sky (i.e. without the clouds at the upper left)? 17 Sep 2008 5:06am @baobab: Thanks so much for your detailed and thoughful comment. I suppose you are right, I did get a little carried away by that beautiful sky. I kind of like how it minimized the house and "shrank" the scene, but I think cropping it down is probably a good idea. Again, thanks so much for your thoughtful commentary and criticism. Zing from Hamilton, New ZealandNice contrast and colours, love the blue sky and the green grass, wonderful! 17 Sep 2008 5:09am jamesy from christchurch, New ZealandBeautiful layered photo gorgeous colours. I'm not sure a crop would necessarily improve the shot, just make it different. I was just curious whether you'd tried it or not. as you note, altering relative scale would shift the sense of the shot dramatically, so I wondered if you had tried it. 18 Sep 2008 11:45pm Mackenzie from Salem, Oregon, United StatesGreat sky, complex landscape. Well done! 19 Sep 2008 4:17am |
