Storehouse (倉)

I realize I must have posted a million photos of these old storehouses on this blog. I'm not sure exactly why I find them so intriguing, but I think it has a lot to do with their gracious way of aging, their great dignity and the way their angles and layers play so delightfully with light and shadow. So I hope you don't mind a few more of these old places. 1 of 3.

beautiful photo - gracious aging is a good way of describing the appeal of many old buildings.

I find it always a pleasant challenge to look at the many angles you manage to discover when looking at the thiongs around you! Same in this case....the tiles forming a relaxing patterns, the round window turned into an open wound by the passage of time, but still well protected by the aging roof!

squished at the top, look at the sky "shape". you have two shapes where one large one would have been more effective. a famous painter once told me to watch your "kisses", i.e. where an element just touches the edge. in this instance the peak of the roof. best...jf

I love the orientation of roof tiles in this photo and maybe the light and shaow on them or the curvatures , and of-course the composition of your photo .
