Colin, I hope you are well. I miss you so terribly. You left us too early, much too early. Peace to you.
Cool Photoblogs
I don't know what to say, but I am sorry for your loss, and this is a wonderful statue to use as dedication :)

I agree with Lorraine and a medieval Dutch poem comes up in my mind:
Egidius waer bestu beleven Mi lanct na di, gheselle myn, Du coors die doot du lietst my 't leven, Dat was geselschap, goet ende fyn.
(Egidius, where are you? I long to you, my companion, You chose death, you left life to me, That was company, good and fine).
Much strength in remembering him.

Simple and touching. Thank you for sharing your feelings of loss. I cannot imagine what it must be like. I am very close to my sister--a special bond. I wish you healing.

A very simple and straightforward image of loss, close-up in all its palpable texture and detail, without a background (or even middle ground) in which one might seek some kind of greater context or meaning. The fact that there is no background or even middle ground, rare for you, seems to make the image even more poignant. As if to say, that's all there is; a death can be like that, just there in front of us, without making sense, a disruption of context. There's more than a little pain and sadness here. I wish you well.
