akarui from Kagoshima, JapanYou are really playing with the light and shadows. This a very mysterious picture. After the steps in the light we think about a door but the kind of handle in wood is quiet low. The light brings us up where there is something on the right of the peer...My imagination is working even seeing the title... 4 Mar 2008 11:34am Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaOUTSTANDING...I love everything about this photo, the mood is exquisite! 4 Mar 2008 11:38am Koushiro from Singapore, SingaporeGreat play with lighting there! I love your shots... 4 Mar 2008 12:49pm Ron from Saint Louis, United StatesWhile the experts say that afternoon light is too harsh, you've really made the best of it here. You've captured a mysterious moment in time in which the doors are deeply embedded in shadow and, yet, the way "in" is illuminated. Very nice! 4 Mar 2008 1:49pm Ian Bramham from Manchester, United KingdomThe play of light & shadow is sublime! 4 Mar 2008 1:54pm Illuci from Hurdegaryp, NetherlandsYou are a real artist! Very good composition, it tells you something, without many details, like a haiku! I love it! 4 Mar 2008 8:31pm pLusOne from Cheonan, South Koreacool shot. 4 Mar 2008 11:02pm drphoto from Newcastle upon Tyne, United KingdomOoo, this is so subtle and moody. Well seen and expertly captured. Dan 5 Mar 2008 8:31am Japanalia from Yokohama, JapanAll your captures have a certain degree of subtlety which I like! Here you make the subtlety tantalizing! Excellent mood! 5 Mar 2008 10:03am Stu from Kyoto, JapanSuperb! I'm really learning alot from looking at your posts, especially your choice of shot. I love your eye for light and shadow and how it gives scenes a totally different feel. Like this one; the doorknob (an unremarkable object by itself) visible in the sunlight surrounded by dark takes on an impact it wouldn't have, and an importance in the composition. Wonderful work. 10 Mar 2008 1:16pm @Stu: Thank you very much. I'm flattered and encouraged. At the same time, I've learned from your blog as well, particularly your fine sense of night photography and your ability to see and effectively compose a wider scene than I usually photograph. I enjoy seeing Kyoto through your lens. Thanks for stopping by. Anita from West Nottingham, United StatesThe light, composition and textures in this photo are very nice! 10 Mar 2008 3:33pm dan from paris, FranceJ'aime particulièrement ce genre de détail photographique ! 26 Mar 2008 3:04pm |
