Japanalia from Yokohama, JapanMost lovely effect of the red torii in a landscape covered by snow. And the sunlight filtering through branches gives the atmosphere some feeling of warmth. A very beautiful capture! 15 Feb 2008 5:39am Michael Skorulski from Cigel, SlovakiaA lovely composition. The detail and color are really wonderful. 15 Feb 2008 6:33am Richard_Irwin from Belper, United KingdomFantastic splash of colour amongst the winter garden. Super. 15 Feb 2008 10:28am Koushiro from Singapore, SingaporeBeautiful! I took some shrine shots as well, in Kamakura in Autumn... But the effects are nowhere as lovely as the winter shots you took..... *jealous jealous*...... XD 15 Feb 2008 12:11pm Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaStriking winter photo GJC, you know how to highlight winter to its best advantage...I've kinda burned out on mine...:) 15 Feb 2008 12:45pm yiannis krikis from thessaloniki, Greeceexcellent composition - I like all these reds into the moody landscape 15 Feb 2008 5:41pm Ian Bramham from Manchester, United KingdomI really like the intimacy to t.his one GJC.....the splash of red in amongst the snowy garden scenery is lovely. Are yesterday's and today's images the first ones with the D300?....exciting eh! 15 Feb 2008 8:39pm Ron from Saint Louis, United StatesSimply gorgeous. Is every winter day in Kyoto this beautiful? 16 Feb 2008 1:02am farmermarn from Baltimore, United StatesVery beautiful- the red against the snow. I am wishing the red was a little sharper. Maybe sharpness is my obsession this week (I had a lot of wishing for more sharpness in my own photos as well). Very nice use of foreground, middle and back to create depth and I like that these elements overlap. 16 Feb 2008 1:29am farmermarn from Baltimore, United StatesVery beautiful- the red against the snow. I like the big leaves covered by snow in the foreground too. 16 Feb 2008 5:10am Stu from Kyoto, JapanThis is such a lonely scene. Beautiful image, love the colour contrast and positioning. 18 Feb 2008 4:21pm Howard F. from South Pasadena, Calif., United StatesThe red color is really outstanding, and the aralia leaves are beautiful how it holds the snow. 18 Feb 2008 5:44pm Anita from West Nottingham, United StatesVery nice! I like the red framed by the dark and white. 20 Feb 2008 11:25am Barbara from Oakland, United StatesI just love this image. The red really pops out! Great capture! Say, in photoshop, you could get rid of those green bits in the background and just have the black, white, and red. I might also crop it a bit at the bottom so the shrine is a bit more off center. But, having said all of that....it is a WONDERFUL image, very well seen. Peaceful and serene. 24 Oct 2009 11:26pm |
