Cool Photoblogs
Great colors, GJC. What a beautiful subject. My biggest criticism is that the line of the blue roof seems to lead too far to the left to that higher other section of the roof, which leaves the photo a little unbalanced and lopsided. I think even a similar frame and perspective that just included more of what's left out on the left side would give the shot better composition. Try putting the left corner of the blue roof at the 1/3 and 1/3 point in the bottom left. Perhaps also a slight contrast boost. That said I like the shot a lot. Cheers.

@Justin Haaheim: Thanks very much for the constructive criticism and thoughtful response. I'll have to return to that temple and try again with your suggestions in mind. I very much appreciate it.
Gorgeous detail and composition, GJC. I like the different colors (especially the silver) and textures A winning shot.

Absolutely a stunning point of view. Everything here is great. I love the blue roofs in Japan, and to see the roof and the detail of the temple -- fantastic!

I love them, too, these roofs! But it is very difficult to get a good picture of them...somehow I never seem satisfied.
